September 11, 2001 is not a date we will ever forget! Many men and women lost their lives trying to rescue the innocent victims of this horrible attack. Police, Fire and our Military men and women put their lives on the line everyday to protect us. They are our HEROES and this event is a Tribute to them. Who's your hometown hero? This is a great time to show them how much they mean to you.
Chick-fil-A of Colorado Springs will be hosting special events throughout the city at each of the five Chick-fil-A Restaurants in our community to pay special tribute to all of our Heroes. In addition to several fund raising activities with our "Ride for Heroes" event, Chick-fil-A of Colorado Springs will donate a percentage of all sales on Saturday, September 11th, 2010 to three very active Non-Profit Organizations that represent our Heroes: Home Front Cares, The Firefighters Fund and The Peace Officers Memorial.
Ride for Heroes, - 8:00am Start - Our Premier event will include 2 fun and scenic rides. An 11-mile Patriots Ride along the scenic Pikes Peak Greenway Trail and Monument Creek. Patriotic dress and bike decorations are highly encouraged. The second ride is a 28-mile Heroes Challenge Ride featuring Garden of the Gods Gut Buster, Flying W Ranch Wahoo Hill, Centennial Cow Climb and finishes up with a breathtaking tour along the Pikes Peak Greenway Trail and Monument Creek. Other 9-11 Tribute Events - 10:00am to 2:00pm will be going on at all Colorado Springs Chick-fil-A restaurants throughout the day. Enjoy safety demonstrations, Flight for Life Helicopter landing, Rock Climbing Wall, Police K-9 Unit Demonstrations, and children will be able to check out various Police, Fire and Military vehicles. Look for the details of our Drawing contest as well. We will have face painting, balloon artistry and of course our Chick-fil-A Cows will be out in full force.
